Family tree

Since I am going to send this blog address to my extended family which is scattered around the world, I decided to photgraph our family tree with pictures. It can't be uploaded as it is in my computer so I took a picture of the screen with that file displayed.

A week with Judy

English: I am back from a week in Philadelphia visiting my dear friend, Judy. Here are some pictures. Three of the pictures are of two of Judy’s completed architectural projects. One shows Judy and friends in a house she modified. The last one was taken as my plane left the sunset and headed back home into the night toward Caracas.

Old friends

This is an odd collection of old friends, but since I can only put four images I'll continue in the next addition.

Dr. Seuss weed

Here's a strange flower that appeared among some fading orchids in a pot on my porch. It's a weed. Maybe the picture isn't a clear one, but it's the sprig on top of the orchid flowers. The picture is a frament of a bigger one.

A clean-up day at the UCV

Yesterday, Friday the 2nd of February, students –mostly from my “Environmental Intervention” class- another professor and I spent the afternoon cleaning up some of the university gardens, an area called “Tierra de Nadie”. Students from the School of Arts joined us, dressed as what has to be called the “Angel of Spotlessness” or on stilts to make everything more festive. As we scrounged around with our plastic garbage bags and protective gloves we got mixed reactions from the students sitting on the grass or on the benches. Some just let us poke through the trash without offering to help, but others got up to clean with us, getting their own rakes, bags and gloves. One boy with bright orange-dyed hair piled straight up from the top of his head toward the overlying tree branches, not only helped, but had all sorts of useful suggestions and theoretical observations to offer about how to work and the nature of citizen participation. Here are some pictures of our day.
